The unique yeast that grows on top of the sherry protecting it from oxidation. When aged under flor, a wine is considered to be undergoing biological maturation. The flor yeast consuming oxygen, alcohol, and, volatile acidity, in turn the produce metabolites that add unique characters and textures to the wine. Each Bodega has a unique endemic flor, that as Jesús from Equipo Navazos would say, is one of the two sherry terroirs, the other the vineyard.

Feeling Thirsty?

The Godfather of the Saar makes truly special wine deserving of the title. AP: 07 22. The 2021er Wiltinger braune Kupp Riesling Auslese is a sweet wine made from botrytized fruit. It offers a superb even if still slightly reduced nose made of bergamot-infused herbs, pineapple, ginger, starfruit, white peach, pear, and a hint of apricot blossom. The Robin has landed! Ar.Pe.Pe's blended Superiore 50% bold Grumello + 50% fine, delicate, mineral Sassella! The Pettirosso is a 50:50 blend of Grumello and Sassella fruit. Boldness coming from Grumello and delicacy with fine, mineral traits from Sassella. Try the Superiores from each of the sub-regions and you'll see these characters. The blend works beautifully. The wine has impressive depth and length. What really strikes me is the harmony. The wines are so together. Excellent acid is balance

The nose is fresh, with complex aromas that range from wild berries to dark chocolate and dried he

Marchese Antinori Solaia Toscana IGT 2018

Red Blend | S.Casciano Val de Pesa, Italy

This is going to be a fascinating vintage to follow at Antinori. There are so many Super Tuscans made from Bordeaux varieties that do my head in. Somehow, they just don't get it right. Solaia is not one of them. Antinori kick out some exceptional vino under this label! They continue to push and build silky tannins and finesse into the mouthfeel, with a focus on energy and vibrancy over the last few years. Seems everyone else agrees with me on this one too! Antinori have added another
