Referring to the sugar content in a finished wine. A dry wine by definition has no fermentable sugar left. The winemaking definition of dry is less than 2g/L of residual sugar. Known as Trocken in Germany or Sec in France. It should be noted that wines labelled with the German synonym trocken often still have a few grams of residual sugar left in them to balance the higher acidity of the wines.

An exuberantly spicy and overtly floral nose is airy, cool and elegant. Unlike some of the other reds in the range with very low yields, the mouthfeel of the mediumbodied flavors reflects the expected density while remaining sophisticated, refined and classy on the beautifully persistent, mineral-driven and youthfully austere finale. Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barolo

Great drinking here, fine, long, even, and harmonious. Beautifully weighted and long. The texture and level of development have this looking like a very complete wine! Cherry, almond, spice, plenty of fragrance here, liquorice root, and a little new leather. It’s medium-bodied, fresh and lively, pops with red fruit and supple dusty tannin, a little rose oil in the mix, and a ferrous/stony finish of quiet succulence and excellent length.
