Terroir al Límit L’Arbossar 2019

Cariñena | Priorat, Spain

Huber's cooler fresher version of his 1er Cru equivalent Cariñena or Carignan has a ridiculous perfume & teases your senses! Arbossar is a steep, 1.6-hectare site vineyard of 100-plus-year-old Cariñena (Carignan) with schist and granite soils. It’s close to the village of Torroja where the Terroir al Límit cellars are based. Against conventional wisdom, Arbossar was planted on the cooler, north-facing slopes of Torroja. The Derée Champérier vineyard was purchased by the Trapet family in 1859. After 160 uninterrupted years of farming this terroir, current generation Pierre & Louis wanted to make a cuvée as an hommage to the many generations of Trapet vignerons that have come before them. Selbach Oster Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese* 2019

Riesling | Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Germany

"The 2019er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese * was made from fruit harvested at 100° Oechsle and fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (81 g/l). It exhibits some smoky, minty, and ripe scents of pear, quince, almond cream, lavender, pineapple, and smoke on the nose. The wine reveals a more exotic and animating side on the delicate and subtly smooth palate, and leaves one with a feeling of presence and intensity, but all focused and chiseled in the long finish. 2026-2039."
