From the elevated line of Chassagne 1er Cru's pushing towards Grand Cru status, including La Romanée and Les Caillerets The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Grands Ruchottes 1er Cru, limited to a single 350-litre barrel this year, has a very malic bouquet: Granny Smith apples mixed with pear and kiwi, wonderful definition and as the Morgeots, quite Puligny-like. The palate is superb with impressive concentration and salinity, very focused with a judicious touch of stem ginger enhancing the persist

Aphelion Brini Single Vineyard Grenache 2021

Grenache | South Australia, Australia

Eucalypt / menthol with a little musk on quite classic Grenache flavours with a little bubble gum, rhubarb, candied citrus peel, baking spice. Perhaps feeling the most complete at the moment. It will be interesting to see how all 3 develop over time. With excellent length and palate weight.

Aphelion Wait Single Vineyard Grenache 2021

Grenache | South Australia, Australia

A riper fruit profile. Whilst richer it retains freshness. A little more grip building here. A graphite, mineral feel. Just the slightest touch of raisining in a good way. Violets on red fruit, a little more darkness and baking spice here with blood orange citrus. As it settles in the glass all things fall into place and it builds a charming elegance.

Aphelion Trenery Single Vineyard Grenache 2021

Grenache | South Australia, Australia

Fascinating set of three wines. The Trenerry is the most perfumed roses, a little menthol, on red fruits, rhubarb and a little orange citrus. Fine, delicate and Pinotesque. Herbal stalk spice with a little grip from stalk tannin. Playful and fun. Fruit builds depth and length in the glass. A freshness, lively acidity and perfume. It will be fascinating to see how this resolves and builds in the bottle over the coming years.

Margherita Otto Langhe Nebbiolo 2019

Nebbiolo | Serralunga d'Alba, Italy

2019 is the first vintage of Langhe Nebbiolo to be produced. It is made from a small part of vines registered as Nebbiolo Langhe in the Vignane MGA (in Barolo, next to Castellero) as well as some declassified fruit from the Barolo parcels. In 2019, the Nebbiolo was fermented on skins for about 10 days before being racked to preserve fruit and freshness. It went through malo in steel and was transferred to a single 1000L Mittelberger botti for aging. This is super fresh and aromatic with Baro

Aphelion Rapture Grenache 2021

Grenache | South Australia, Australia

Wow there is some zip. The blend is more than the sum of its parts. The different perfumes: violets and fading flowers, fruits: red, rhubarb, blood orange, a little musk, spice and beyond marry offering a complex profile. The build in tannin across the palate is fine yet not insignificant. There is more immediate harmony and expression than with the single vineyard wines. Darkness with freshness. The refreshing, thirst quenching nature of the wine is once again a demonstration of the shift from

Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco 2016

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barbaresco

One of the best PdB Barbaresco's ever made. Exceptional line, length, depth, with an excpetional texture! Hard to go wrong here! Cappellano Barbera Gabutti 2015

Barbera | Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo

Another great Piemonte vine, another great aspect of the Gabutti vineyards. A classic Barbera, feminine in its generosity and masculine in its posture. It is characterised by a distinctive acidity which sustains softness and fruit, and delivers a vibrating tasting experience until the long finale. The wine gives the impression of partial incompleteness, of continuous change; like all the red wines with strong character it takes its time to unveil its potentiality, character, and pleasures. The Ultimate Glass for the Neb-Head! Sensory was conceived in July, 2017, after a discussion between the Winery Conterno Giacomo and Zwiesel Kristallglas. Conterno wanted to create a wine glass that fully enhances the characteristics of great wines. In the designing stage they focused on a shape that involves all the senses; thus the name Sensory was born. The glass expresses sensuality to the eye; it is perfectly balanced in the hand as well as producing a clear and lasting sound. The large b

Te Mata Estate Coleraine 2020

Bordeaux Blend | New Zealand, Hawke's Bay

Perfumed Refined Goodness! A single vineyard wine until 1989, Coleraine is an blend of the finest wines produced from distinct plots within Te Mata Estate’s oldest Havelock Hills vineyards, first planted in 1892. Always a cabernet sauvignon dominant wine, often with merlot and cabernet franc, Coleraine is refined and classical, demonstrating the immense potential for Bordeaux blends in Hawke’s Bay. There are many books about this most captivating of wine regions, but nothing comes close to Inside Burgundy for its comprehensive depth and detailed information on the vineyards, the wine, the vintages and the growers of this storied region. Containing over 700 pages of in-depth writing, maps that are almost alarming in their detail, and incorporating newly commissioned and (literally) ground-breaking research into Bordeaux’s terroir, Janes Anson’s work is, by a margin, the most up-to-date and scientifically informed book in the Bordeaux canon. Indeed, with the bar set so high, this is a book unlikely to be surpassed in our lifetime (unless there is a second edition)! Anson has lived and worked in Bordeaux for almost 20 years
