Sublime
I love the fact that Trimbach hold back there wines for so long. The freshness, combined with the development of this wine brings a lovely harmony and balance. 8 years on the acid of this bone-dry wine has resolved and the richness of the fruit has powered through. Yet it remains elegant and fine. Complexity around a core of lime, layers of flowers, minerals, salt, hints of spice, just a lick of patisserie cream and so much more are occasionally popping their heads up. Also available in

A Brunello in all but name ... and, a bloody good one at that! A bold Rosso, more than a baby Brunello. Much more delicious than many a Brunello on the market. There is something quite serious happening here. Dark fruited with incredible depth and length. Although the intensity in its youth is palpable, the harmony and balance here signal that as it shifts to the next phase of development it will give much, much more. It is already incredibly complex, and, layered, dark mulberry and cherry,

Voliero Brunello di Montalcino 2016

Sangiovese | Montalcino, Italy

The sister to the Uccelliera brother, same winery, same maker, different fruit, and personality! Many who have tasted both the Uccelliera and Voliero Brunello over a number of years remark that they prefer the Uccelliera in the cooler years, and the Voliero in the bolder years. 2016 has somehow managed to make the choice a little harder. Give this just a little time to acclimatise to the world outside the bottle and you'll be great with welcoming arms. Voliero's 2016 Brunello has wonderful sh

A celebration of an incredible old vineyard with plantings from the late 1800s. Tony & Lita are custodians of something truly special! Central vineyard planted in 1898. The Malbec is the best I've ever had from Australia. Malbec is a fickle variety that is a case of feast or famine. When flowering is poor so little fruit is realised that you can barely make a wine
The Wehlener Auslese had everything. Power with line and length. Rich with super fine acid. Again texture phenolics, Even + long. Estery with a soft green herb hint. Delicacy and transparency on power. The 2020er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese offers a gorgeously attractive and ripe nose of almond cream, honeyed peach, smoke, tangerine, orange zest, candied grapefruit, and apricot. The wine is luscious and proves well on the sweet side on the palate. There is presence and intensity,

Domaine Racine Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2019

Pinot Noir | Santa Rita Hills, America

The 2019 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is an attractive, ethereal wine. Sweet dried cherry, mint, tobacco and sage are some of the aromas and flavors that open in the glass. I would give this a few years in bottle to soften. This is an especially savory style of Pinot with plenty of aromatic presence, and the fruit pushed into the background. The Sta. Rita Hills cuvée is a blend of fruit from Domaine de la Côte and La Encantada. Antonio Galloni, Vinous 90 Points

Celebrate in Style!
Superb expression of bubbles made from Pinot Noir! Incredible fruit intensity, rich full style with plenty of personality. Heaps going on. Bubbles that you can take beyond an aperitif, it'll happily sit alongside a decent plate of nosh. Time on lees and post disgorgement have harmonised a wine that is yet another example of quality fruit and thoughtful winemaking. This 2015 Vintage sits proud next to the divine 1911 & V6. It takes year of training and experience for a winemaker to unde

Giuseppe Cortese Barbaresco Rabajà 2019

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barbaresco

🍇RABAJÀ RABAJÀ RABAJÀ 🇮🇹 The 2019 Barbaresco Rabaja is a powerful, austere wine that is going to need a number of years to come around. I very much like the energy, but readers should not plan on opening a bottle any time soon, as the 2019 is seriously tannic and shut down at the moment. It’s a gorgeous Barbaresco that shows the more elegant hand that defines the approach today. Antonio Galloni, Vinous 94 Points The Rabajà sees a jump in sophistication depth and length.

This is the perfect example of the nuances of maturing wine. The desire to achieve development through élévage whilst retaining freshness and energy. To have a depth of flavour whilst quenching thirst. To achieve balance. To create a scent that ought not exist. The 2010 Tondonia Reserva achieves all of these. Tasting a wine should always be about what's in the glass not the numbers, the numbers are there to help those at the extreme end of wine love comprehend how a creature like this co

Giuseppe Cortese Langhe Nebbiolo MAGNUM 2021

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barbaresco

A Langhe Nebb made from young vine Rabajà .. Yes it's true! Always a fun wine. Elegant and juicy fruited, with solid core of fruit wrapped in chewy tannins. It’s a playful Langhe. Typically perfumed with a savoury twang, a little orange. Loads of fun to be had here. Always better after an extra year in bottle & a good decant. Will reward 2-5 years patience. Even his Langhe Neb is young vine Rabajà!

Auguste Clape Côtes du Rhône 2021

Shiraz/Syrah | Rhône Valley, Cornas

Saturated violet. An expressive bouquet evokes black and blue fruits and smoky bacon, along with suggestions of olive and pipe tobacco. Appealingly sweet, smoke- and spice-accented blackberry and cherry liqueur flavors show fine delineation and are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. A smoky mineral nuance builds with air and carries through a long, youthfully gripping finish that echoes the olive and spice notes. Josh Raynolds, Vinous 90-91 Points The Côtes du Rhône, is Clape's 3rd
