Raventós i Blanc ‘De la Finca’ 2019

Xarel-lo | Spain, Catalunya

Fruit for the De La Finca comes from the Vinya dels Fòssils. Situated on the highest terraces of the River Anoia with lower yields on thinner soil. Here we have a  build in the depth and length. Sophisticated fine and long, complex with mid-palate layering. An entrancing perfume at play with edgy, salinity and a fine mousse. Subtle power and delicacy. The extra time on lees in bottle, 30 months, shows with a seamless harmony, richness and a little autolysis character. The fruit weight is balan

Wickedly fresh, the 2023 Pecorino opens with a pretty blending of stone dust and white smoke, giving way to young peach and sage. This splashes across the palate with soft textural waves while maintaining fantastic energy. A spicy mix of sour lime and green apples saturate the senses. The 2023 cleans up beautifully, tart and mouthwatering, with a saline feel and a sensation of liquid stone. This zesty and wiry Pecorino from Tiberio is a total pleasure to taste.Eric Guido, Vinous 92 Points

A Vino de Pasto from the laminated Albarizas Barajuelas of Pago Macharnudo. Gold and green to look and smell. It has a semi-fermentated barley-sake-ricey-acetic tang and gourd skin, paddy-melon-in-the-cool-of-night-edginess. There's a titch of steel and the smell of reeds and rush matting, stripped bamboo, lemongrass outers and typical pistachio skin. It's a wine of lovely depth with some richness, but edged sweet-sour.Scott Walsey, The Spanish Acquisition🔥Hot Tip: Drink over days

Vietti Barolo 375ml 2021

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barolo

Show the class of the vineyards and the winemakers! Excellent Barolo. The delicacy and restraint here is exceptional. The core of transparent fruit is insane. Depth, purity and such incredible clarity. A soft hand yields incredibly fine, long, even nutty tannin. Showing wonderful expression and generosity in its youth. Plenty more to come with time in bottle. Flowers, blood orange, rhubarb, red fruits. Mid-palate tannin of exceptional quality. A dark broody layer folded in. Impeccable blending.

Maison Dieu is the name of an actual lieu-dit situated in Pommard but Violot chooses to employ the term cuvée anyway; in the period prior to 1937 this well-situated parcel was declared as Pommard rather than Bourgogne“Ripe aromas of red berries, plum and plenty of earth lead to voluminous and very rich middle weight flavors that possess a seductive texture before concluding in a clean, refreshing and only mildly rustic finale.” Burghound

Schloss Gobelsburg have got élévage all sorted! A Vino de Pasto from the laminated Albarizas Barajuelas of Pago Macharnudo. The 2022 La Escribano Vino di Pasto 1 year in old fino casks, a tiny bit of ullage and a thin layer of flor. It's exhilarating, energetic drinking ~ lightning! Fascinating to see the balance of flavours showing a little more citrus fruit popping through, still with the usual savoury cereal characters. Saline with textural pleasure a plenty. Green leafy herb at the edge. A playful divine wine. 🔥Hot Tip: Drink

Artuke ‘Paso las Manas’ Rioja Tinto 2022

Tempranillo | Spain, Alavesa

Moving into a more blue fruited profile over the 2022 Artuke 'Paso Las Mãnas', plush long even mouthfeel, nutty ripe tannins, a little savoury play. Beautifully balanced with super fine long acid. A faint lick of oak tannin adding evenness to the tannin profile. 100% Temp from 750-800mm ASL. Plenty more to come as this builds and lengthen with time. A nice step commensurate with the coin. The 2022 Paso Las Mañas was selected from the 3.9 hectares of Tempranillo and has similar parameter

Artuke ‘Trascuevas’ Rioja Bianco 2022

White Blend | Spain, Alavesa

Mostly Viura with a splash of Malvasia and Palomino in the blend.  Chalky acid with a little phenolic grip. Perfumed with jasmine nectar and grapefruit notes.,  Maple syrup, tea and a pinch of baking spices. A fascinating drink. Excellent acid profile over a mid-weight frame. A little oxidative handling offers nutty and toasty pops whilst the wine remains fresh. An energising approach, quite different to the super oxidative Viuras. A ripping incarnation. The 2022 Finca de Los Locos is s
