Cave de Tain, based in Hermitage, is surrounded by some of the finest Shiraz vineyards in the world. This is one of those succulent, textured cracking wines that you can pour a glass of any day of the week when you just need something tasty to drink!

Hermitage and surrounds is second most Northerly wine area in the Rhône Valley, dominate by Syrah, Marsanne and Roussane. Just like it’s Côte Rotie to it’s north it has many vineyards on incredibly steep slopes that can only be worked by hand. The surrounding villages do have some flatter sites mixed in as they sprawl away from the valley created by the Rhône River.
